CHRISTY ALTOMARE –  originated the role of Anya/Anastasia in the Broadway production of Anastasia (Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle Nominations). Christy made her Broadway debut as Sophie Sheridan in Mamma Mia at the Winter Garden Theater. Her other theatre credits include Sue Snell in the reimagined MCC Theater off-Broadway production of Carrie, Jerusha Abbott in the Detroit run of  John Caird and Paul Gordon’s new musical Daddy Long Legs and the 1st national tour of Spring Awakening as Wendla Bergmann. Christy is a 2008 graduate of Cincinnati University’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) with a BFA in Musical Theater. Cast recordings include: Anastasia and Carrie.

Christy, along with Broadway Workshop’s staff will work with each student on audition technique and song interpretation in this special one-day master class. We will focus on giving students the opportunity to bring their audition and performance skills to the next level.  Students will break down their song material with one on one coaching in a fun-filled class setting. Students will also have the opportunity to be part of a Q&A with Christy and the Broadway Workshop team.

Students will need sheet music for 1 or 2  musical theatre or pop/rock audition song in the correct key for this workshop. We will only be focusing on ONE 16/32 bar musical cut in this class. If possible please have a second song to be used as back up. Songs should be three-hole punched and in a binder. Accompanist/Musical Director will be provided. Students can sing anything that brings them joy and that they feel comfortable singing! Students will not need a photo/resume for this class.

Christy’s past workshops and master classes with us have made a huge impact on our students and we are so thrilled to bring her back to the classroom!

This workshop is limited to 12 students.
