  • Observer Tuition – $125: In addition to the morning Improv/Acting exercises and the Dance Workshop in the afternoon, Observing students will have the chance to learn by hearing Mr. Faist’s feedback for the performers and by asking questions in the Q&A portion of the workshop. (Limited to 10 Students)

All students will be participating in the full day including: Improv/Acting Exercises, Master Class with Mike Faist, and Dance Workshop with CLAY THOMSON!

MIKE FAIST is currently playing Connor Murphy in the hit Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen in which he was Tony Nominated for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. Originally from Columbus, Ohio he moved to New York at 17 to pursue acting.  Mike made his Broadway debut in Newsies—as an original cast member, he created the role of Morris Delancey for the regional premiere and continued through the Broadway transfer.  He starred opposite Taylor Schilling and Peter Dinklage in A Month in the Country at Classic Stage Co (Dir. Erica Schmidt).  Other theatre: Appropriate (Signature Theatre Company, Dir. Liesl Tommy). Films include: Mania Days (Dir. Paul Dalio, Prod. Spike Lee), Lake City (Dir. Aaron Fisher-Cohen), License Plates (Dir. Marc Lucas) and The Grief of Others (Dir. Patrick Wang)—which recently premiered this year at SXSW and had its international premiere in L’ACID program in the Cannes Film, and I Can I Will I Did (Nadine Truong)

In the first portion of this workshop, students will participate in Improv and Acting exercises to help get warmed up and prepared for the day led by ALICIA ALBRIGHT who will be appearing in Frozen on Broadway this Spring!

Mike Faist will then work with 10 students on audition technique and song interpretation in this special Master Class. We will focus on giving actors the opportunity to bring their audition and performance skills to the next level and how to better connect to their audition material. Performing Students will break down their song material with one on one coaching in a class setting. Observing Students will be able to learn and grow from the feedback and exercises Mr. Faist gives to students performing. All students will also have the opportunity to be part of a Q&A with Mr. Faist and the Broadway Workshop team.

In the final section of this workshop students will take part in a musical theater themed dance/movement class led by CLAY THOMSON who has appeared on Broadway in Newsies, Matilda, and on tour in Wicked and West Side Story!

Performing Students will need 1 musical theatre or pop/rock audition song in the correct key for this workshop. If possible please have a second song to be used as back up. Songs should be 3-hole punched and in a binder. Accompanist will be provided. Students will not need a photo/resume for this class.

THIS IS AN ADVANCED LEVEL CLASS. Students should be prepared for honest feedback and be ready to work in depth on their song selections. Students should have a high level of vocal training and have professional aspirations.
