Casting Workshop with Howard Meltzer

Each student will have the opportunity to work one on one with Mr. Meltzer on scenes and sides from his past TV & Film projects! Students will receive feedback and coaching to help bring their performances to the next level.

The last 20 minutes of the workshop will culminate in a Q&A where both parents and students can come together to ask questions and get more information about the casting process and what they can do to help guide their child’s career.

HOWARD MELTZER has been casting in Los Angeles since 2002. Originally from New York City, he was a staff Casting Director at Stuart Howard Associates casting for Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theater. He has cast for CBS, Disney Channel, Fox, NBC, Netflix, Nickelodeon, Peacock, Sony Pictures Television Studios, 20th Century Fox, and Warner Brothers Television.

Series casting include: Best Friends Whenever, Lab Rats, Wizards of Waverly Place: Reunion Special, Shake It Up, Hannah Montana and I’m in the Band; the pilot Girl Meets World; and the television movies Evermoore and Den Brother, and the pilots of Life With Boys, Big Time Rush, The Troop and The Fresh Beat Band.

Howard’s passion is in identifying new undiscovered talent, and he has become the go-to casting director for projects for kids and young adults.

He has been nominated for 22 Artios Awards for excellence in casting, winning the honor three times. He has served as the Vice President of the Casting Society of America and is currently a Governor of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
