About EMMA:
We are seeking two casts of 18 young performers to complete our diverse and inclusive cast of actors.

Emma is a “Clueless” senior at Highbury Prep. She is certain she knows what’s best for her classmates’ love lives, and is determined to find the perfect boyfriend for shy sophomore Harriet by the end of the school year. But will Emma’s relentless matchmaking get in the way of finding her own happiness? Based on Jane Austen’s classic novel, this sparkling new musical features the hit songs of legendary girl groups and iconic female singers Including: The Supremes, Sara Bareilles, Cyndi Lauper. Katy Perry and more.

EMMA The Musical JV Edition was created at Broadway Workshop in November of 2017. Check out some moments from that workshop production HERE. This show will be produced under special arrangement with Broadway Licensing.

If cast in EMMA, students will spend each scheduled session rehearsing and learning their parts, in preparation for the final streamed, pre-recorded performance. Students will submit self-tapes of their acting/singing/dancing pieces prior to the stream on May 15th, so that the clips can be edited and streamed during the performance. More info will be provided to the cast.

Students will be expected to rehearse on their own time outside of scheduled rehearsal sessions. Costumes will be in line with a modern-day high school, and students may be asked to put together a simple performance look.

EMMA will be co-directed/choreographed by Tony Award Nominee Taylor Louderman and Hannah Kloepfer, with music direction by Nat Zegree, and produced by the Broadway Workshop Staff.
