MORE INFO ON JUNIOR EXCEL:
Broadway Workshop’s Junior Excel Intensive is a five-day program geared toward students ages 8-14 with an extremely strong passion for the performing arts. Junior Excel students will study the three disciplines of musical theatre in small groups, broken down by age. Students will prepare solo and small group pieces in preparation for our end of program production, where they will perform for a panel of New York agents, managers and casting directors.
Our past showcase guests include: Telsey + Company Casting, Jennifer Rudin Casting, the LA division of Disney Talent Development, Tara Rubin Casting, Abrams Artists, Innovative Artist, CESD, Paradigm, Mara Entertainment, Nickelodeon Casting, and many others.
Each day begins with a group warm-up, and students will then split up into smaller groups (by age) where they will have master classes in Song Interpretation/Musical Theatre Performance, Acting/Monologue preparation and Dance Master Classes making up their core schedule. These classes will be taught by high level Broadway performers. In addition to our JUNIOR EXCEL core classes, students will have special guest workshops with New York’s top casting directors, Broadway actors, musical directors and choreographers. This fast moving day will challenge each student and allow them to take the next big step in their training, all while having an incredible time!
There is no audition required for this program. Junior Excel students should be ready to work in a professional atmosphere with top industry professionals. Students enrolled in this program should have prior experience in school, community or professional theater and be comfortable with performing in a class and performance setting.
