PROGRAM UPDATE: Everyone at Broadway Workshop cares so much about our students and their safety. Summer intensives are such a special time at Broadway Workshop and our goal is give our students as many training options as possible for summer 2020. We are thrilled to add an ONLINE session of JUNIOR EXCEL this July. As always, we aim to create the most incredible training for our students and summer 2020 will be no exception. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us directly.

Broadway Workshop’s Junior Excel Intensive is a five-day program geared toward students ages 8-14 with an extremely strong passion for the performing arts. Junior Excel students will study the three disciplines of musical theatre in small groups, broken down by age. Students will prepare solo and small group pieces in preparation for our end of program production, where they will perform for a panel of New York agents, managers and casting directors, as well as family and friends. Our final presentation will take place at the Baruch Performing Arts Center, an off-Broadway theatre venue.

Our past showcase guests include: Telsey + Company Casting, Jennifer Rudin Casting, the LA division of Disney Talent Development, Tara Rubin Casting, Abrams Artists, Innovative Artist, CESD, Paradigm, Mara Entertainment, Nickelodeon Casting, and many others.

Each day begins with a group warm-up, and students will then split up into smaller groups (by age) where they will have master classes in Song Interpretation/Musical Theatre Performance, Acting/Monologue preparation and Dance Master Classes making up their core schedule. In addition to their core classes, students will have special guest workshops with New York’s top casting directors, Broadway actors, musical directors and choreographers. This fast moving day will challenge each student and allow them to take the next big step in their training, all while having an incredible time!
