This special master class will take place on MONDAY OCTOBER 8, 2018 (Columbus Day) from 10AM-12:30PM at Ripley Grier Studios (520 8th Ave -16th Floor) and is open to students ages 12-18.
Lindsay was most recently seen on Broadway playing Carrie in Carousel for which she received a 2018 TONY AWARD for best featured Actress in a musical. Lindsay’s appeared on Broadway as Elphaba in the smash hit, Wicked and in the play Significant Other. She received a Drama Desk, Drama League, and OCC nominations for her portrayal of Rose Fenny in Second Stage’s World Premiere musical DogFight, directed by Joe Mantello. Other Broadway credits include: Godspell (2011 Revival), Everyday Rapture (Roundabout) and Grease (2007 Revival). Ms. Mendez is also an accomplished jazz and blues singer, Her album entitled “This Time” is available now.
Lindsay will personally work with each student on audition technique and song interpretation. This master class will focus on giving actors the opportunity to bring their audition and performance skills to the next level and how to better connect to their audition material. The final part of this class will be a Q&A with our artistic team and Ms. Mendez. This workshop will be lead by Broadway Workshop director – MARC TUMMINELLI.
STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE 2 MUSICAL THEATRE OR POP VOCAL SELECTIONS PREPARED FOR THIS CLASS. Sheet music should be in the correct key and 3 hole punch and in a binder for our musical director. This is an advanced level workshop. Students should be ready for direct and honest feedback and ready to take big risks with their audition material.
